You may not spend a great deal of time talking with your physician about your sexual health, but if you have noticed subtle changes that cause concern, it’s time to seek treatment. Urinary incontinence and uncomfortable sexual experiences don’t have to be permanent or affect your confidence and well-being for the foreseeable future. When it comes to vaginal rejuvenation, you have many options, but you want to feel confident that you have chosen the right treatment. Why should you have an extensive procedure when non-surgical Viveve™ may be all that you need?

If you have symptoms of vaginal laxity, ask our team about how Viveve™ treatments by Viveve can help.

Many feminine issues, such as urinary incontinence and decreased satisfaction during sex are linked to the loss of collagen in the vaginal walls. Collagen is found in most of our tissues, making it the most plentiful protein in the body. It is the fundamental substance that helps our bones, skin, hair, tendons and other tissues hold shape and work as intended.

At the New Orleans Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery, we offer Viveve™ treatments for vaginal laxity, which is fast-becoming a patient favorite among our non-invasive procedures.

For individuals in their 20s, collagen is replaced as quickly as it is lost, but as we age, our bodies produce less collagen, and this causes a deficiency, which affects a range of soft tissues. For many women, better sexual health and wellness is an appealing concept, but not knowing the details of the procedure leaves much to the imagination.

Patients are relieved to learn that Viveve™ is entirely non-surgical. There is no tissue removal involved, and this means no downtime. Viveve™ addresses vaginal laxity, which is a loosening of the vaginal canal caused by low levels of collagen. The gentle warmth of the device triggers your body to generate more collagen, and this thickens the tissues in the treatment area.

Although treatment is considered non-medically necessary, it does provide benefits in both aspects of your overall health and well-being. Your procedure can certainly help with body confidence but boasts other benefits as well. Do you notice a small amount of urine escaping when you sneeze or laugh?  These are signs of urinary incontinence, and you are not alone. Almost 40% of women develop a form of urinary incontinence between the ages of 20 and 45. If you are using pads to stay dry and hide this intimate issue, learn more about treatments by Viveve.

We recommend this treatment to help additional concerns that include:

  • Discomfort during sex
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Stress incontinence, a type of urinary incontinence
  • Poor bladder control during sex
  • Reduced vaginal sensation

Patients want to know that the treatments that they choose for vaginal laxity work. In clinical studies, approximately 90% of women who had the treatment reported that the results lasted for up to one year. This non-invasive procedure offers many women a viable solution to feminine health concerns.

How does it feel to have non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation? This is, after all, an area of the body that has a concentration of nerves and delicate tissues. The Viveve™ takes only 30 minutes. The applicator is about the size of your thumb and is only used at the opening of the vagina. While it gently and evenly applies warming energy to deeper tissues, the applicator is designed to cool the surface of the skin. This combination is why Viveve™ is incredibly effective at collagen stimulation.

No anesthesia is required, and collagen production typically peaks in about three months. The treatment is preferred by our physicians and patients alike because of its many benefits, including:

Patients can choose to have a repeat session a year later, but they do not need to return immediately for another session to achieve their desired results.

We make it easy to make room for treatment in your busy schedule.

You can return home and to your usual routine as soon as your appointment is complete.

Non-invasive treatment methods make Viveve™ easy to complete and hassle-free for our patients.

No incisions need to be placed to create the desired changes. Viveve™ does not involve tissue excision.

Vaginal rejuvenation offers important benefits to women, such as:

  • Reducing urinary incontinence
  • Improving sexual satisfaction
  • Restoring vaginal tightness
  • Enhancing femininity and self-confidence

In a word, no. The sensation of having a Viveve™ treatment is a mild warming sensation that is coupled with cooling of the surface of the vaginal wall. The device that is used for the treatment is approximately the same size as your thumb, and it is inserted only about 1/3 of the way into the vagina.

You may notice results right away because the warmth of the treatment causes the tissues to swell. Collagen production does take some time, so the full effects may take several weeks.

We recommend that you wait at least 24 hours before having intercourse. This gives the tissues time to relax after the treatment.

Most women are good candidates for our Viveve™ procedure, but you should be examined before deciding to have the procedure. Some conditions, such as lesions in the treatment area, cancer, and pregnancy may preclude you as a candidate.

During your consultation, we conduct an examination and discuss your options if you use an IUD for contraception.
