RADIESSE IN NEW ORLEANS

Radiesse® is a dermal filler that restores a more youthful appearance to the face, neck and hands. It improves sagging facial soft tissue and deep nasolabial folds by replenishing lost volume primarily in the cheek area. Additionally, it stimulates collagen production for gradual improvement over a period of months.  Be sure to read on about our unique use of Radiesse, “hyperdilute Radiesse”, which we use for rejuvenation of the aging neck.

Radiesse is made up of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in a gel.

Injection of facial fillers, including Radiesse, requires attention to both art and medical science. Dr. Velargo and Dr. Hendrick have extensive experience with the properties of Radiesse in the skin so that their results are always natural-looking.

Other facial fillers include the RHA line of fillers, Restylane Lyft®, Restylane®Juvéderm Ultra Plus®, and Juvéderm Voluma® among others. Drs. Velargo and Hendrick may suggest that a combination of these injectables, including Botox®Jeuveau®, or Dysport® is the best way to achieve your desired look. Skin resurfacing procedures can also soften certain lines and wrinkles.

If you have more significant signs of aging, a surgical procedure such as a face liftneck liftbrow lift, or blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) might be recommended.

WHAT CAN RADIESSE ACCOMPLISH?

Radiesse is ideal to correct:

  • Poor skin quality and overall aged appearance to the neck
  • Lost volume and deep folds/ “hollows” around the cheeks and midface
  • Nasolabial folds / smile lines from the nose to the mouth
  • A jawline that is beginning to sag (a pre-jowl condition)
  • Marionette lines from the mouth to the chin
  • Hollowed temples
  • Aging hands that have begun to develop wrinkles and/or bulging veins

WHAT HAPPENS DURING RADIESSE INJECTION?

A fine needle or cannula is used to inject Radiesse deeply into the skin. Lidocaine is contained in the injections to reduce discomfort. Dr. Velargo and Dr. Hendrick are believers in cool compress anesthesia, as well as acupressure techniques to make the injections as comfortable as possible. We will apply a topical numbing cream before your injections for added comfort. The results are visible immediately but continue to improve over several weeks as more collagen is produced.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING RECOVERY FROM RADIESSE?

You can proceed with most of your activities, including returning to work, after you leave our office following Radiesse injections. Most patients experience some minimal swelling, bruising, and soreness for a few days. You can cover any discoloration with makeup, apply cool compresses to reduce the inflammation, and apply topical Arnica Montana to speed the resorption of any bruising.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS OF RADIESSE LAST?

The effects of Radiesse injections last approximately one year, although some people have seen the results last longer.

The product stimulates the production of collagen in the skin, so less product may be needed for a similar result in subsequent maintenance injections.

WHAT IS HYPERDILUTE RADIESSE?

The New Orleans Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery is one of the first clinics in the area to now offer a Hyperdilute Radiesse treatment. In recent years, Radiesse has been increasingly used in the hyperdiluted form as a biostimulatory agent rather than simply a volumizing filler. By scaling back the volumizing effects of Radiesse, our doctors can really hone in on its skin rejuvenating properties.

Hyperdiluted Radiesse is ideal for patients who suffer from the appearance of an aging neck caused by:

  • Thin, crepey skin
  • Deficient fat volume
  • Vertical platysmal banding of the neck

Although our Hyperdilute Radiesse treatment can be performed alone, we highly a 3 step treatment plan we call the triple threat to the aging neck for the most dramatic results.

This age targeting trifecta allows our experienced board-certified facial plastic surgeon to exponentially reduce the appearance of an aging neck with three non-surgical procedures.

Hyperdilute Radiesse for restoring skin quality

Neurotoxin treatment (Jeuveau / Dysport) for relaxing the pull of the platysma muscle and vertical banding as well as creating a lifting effect to the lower face.

Morpheus 8 Radiofrequency Microneedling for reinvigorating collagen production.
