Is Dysport a Good Option for Me?

Send your wrinkles packing! Facial wrinkles are often unavoidable, as they are caused by your facial expressions (including smile lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles). If you’ve got them, we can treat them. Dysport is an excellent option to treat, fade, and smooth these wrinkles away. Keep reading to learn more.

What Is Dysport?

Dysport is a non-surgical injectable treatment that treats lines and wrinkles caused by muscle activity. Like Botox, it is a neuromodulator made from botulinum toxin A. This treatment is safe and effective.

I’ve Heard of Botox, but Not Dysport. What’s the Difference?

Botox and Dysport are similar treatments. Both are neuromodulators using botulinum toxin A to relax muscles that cause certain types of wrinkles. Dysport was FDA approved in 2009, and has quickly become a favorite treatment of doctors and patients alike here at the New Orleans Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery.

Dysport and Botox are very similar, but the few minor differences can make one treatment a better option than the other in certain circumstances. Dysport has a bigger “spread” than Botox, which makes it ideal for lines between the brows and crow’s feet. Dysport may also start working a little more quickly (Dysport results usually start to appear in a day vs. 2-3 days for Botox).

Like Botox, Dysport results last 3-4 months with a single treatment. You can return to your regular activities right after treatment.

In addition to Botox and Dysport, we also offer Xeomin, another excellent neuromodulator.
