THIGH LIFT IN NEW ORLEANS

thigh lift or thighplasty is a surgical procedure to reshape the thighs, making them firmer and more youthful-looking. It is performed when excess fat and sagging skin on the thighs refuse to respond to diet and exercise. The surgery is also often done after bariatric surgery as part of a body lift.

As a result of a thigh lift, cellulite, stretch marks, and redundant skin are reduced. This excess tissue can be removed from the inner thigh, outer thigh, or both. Liposuction can also be performed concurrently to remove any problem areas of fat in the thigh to provide a better shape and contour.

During your consultation, Dr. Hendrick will evaluate your thighs carefully and listen to your concerns about their appearance. He will then tell you what can be done to improve the way they look and will devise a surgical plan to best fit your needs.

WHAT CAN A THIGH LIFT ACCOMPLISH?

Thighplasty can:

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THIGHPLASTY?

A thigh lift is an outpatient procedure that is generally performed using general anesthesia for your safety and comfort. Dr. Hendrick usually places the incisions within the bikini line in the groin area.

The excess skin is removed, and if there are localized pockets of fat, liposuction may be used to remove them. After removing the excess tissue, the incisions are then sutured closed, reshaping the thighs so that they will be firmer and smoother.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THIGHPLASTY?

Post-operatively, you should expect some soreness, swelling, stiffness, and bruising. You will be prescribed pain medication to manage any post-operative discomfort, and you will be required to wear a compression garment for a period of time after your surgery to keep inflammation to a minimum.

You might need as much as 2 weeks off from work after a thigh lift. Dr. Hendrick will let you know ahead of time so that you can prepare. Exercise should be avoided for 6-8 weeks.

Incisions are cared for daily by cleansing the incision lines with mild soap and water. Any external stitches are removed during one of your post-operative appointments.

Depending on the extensiveness of the surgery, drains may be required to remove any post-operative fluids. These will be removed within a few days of the surgery at one of your post-op visits.

A full set of post-operative instructions will be provided to you prior to your surgery. Of course, feel free to ask any questions during your pre-operative visit.

The results of a thigh lift are long-lasting, but additional fat and skin laxity can develop over time with the natural aging process and any unexpected weight gain. The best way to prolong your results is to maintain a steady weight and exercise regularly.

Thighplasty is generally considered to be a cosmetic procedure and, therefore, not covered by insurance carriers.
